Once again feeling existential and at odds with my

Once again feeling existential and at odds with my human body…🙃

As a kid, I used to imagine what life would be like if I had the option of leaving my body from time to time, like my spirit floating around like a little light orb or temporarily inhabiting other lifeforms or even the bodies of other people a la Quantum Leap just to experience what that would be like. I guess we could call this the ultimate FOMO.

As I’ve gotten older and live with severe endometriosis, I find myself fantasizing more and more about being able to find respite from a body that’s in chronic pain, replacing that childlike sense of wonder with the adult desire for freedom (or should I say escape?) Maybe it’s the woo woo girl deep inside of me trying in her own way to embrace spiritualism and the concept of souls, grappling with my own mortality. Maybe I’m just tired and need to start going to bed at a reasonable hour.
