I have quite a lot on my plate this week, so I’m going to keep this post short and sweet 💞
YOU. GUYS. I am SO EXCITED to announce that I’m walking my first ever runway show on March 4 for Charleston Werk Week, a vintage fashion show benefitting local non-profits Girls Rock Charleston and We Are Family, two amazing organizations doing incredible work in Charleston to benefit marginalized groups of people. I was so honored when Katie of Little French Dress asked me to be one of her models in the show! If you want to see me stomp the runway and probably fall flat on my face, this is the place to be next Saturday night. Be sure to buy your tickets before the event sells out.
Katie was also kind enough to give me a few pieces to style for various blog posts, like this chic denim skirt straight out of the 90s.
I first met Katie a few months ago when requesting style pulls for an editorial shoot, and we bonded quickly due to our mutual love of vintage clothing. The clothing in her shop varies in style, but a lot of the pieces she carries are reminiscent of the 90s. Now, I was but a wee child back in those days, but I have many fond memories of rocking tattoo chokers, giant scrunchies, and SEVERAL different washes of jean overalls, so when Katie gave me this denim skirt I knew that I wanted to pay homage to that popular style decade. I elected to pair this skirt with a chiffon bell-sleeve choker top for more of a 90s-meet-boho-babe vibe; however, this skirt is extremely versatile and could also be worn with a cute graphic crop top or even styled with a classic button-up or turtleneck for the office (if your boss is okay with that sort of thing).
